Source of Life

Luke 643-44
For no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit
For each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thorn bushes, nor are grapes picked from a bramble bush.

Jeremiah 17:5-8 (this verse really challenges my life over and over... such a beautiful analogy of how a heart rooted in God is steadfast... because he is never changing.)
Thus says the Lord:
"Cursed is the man, who trusts in man
and makes flesh his strength,
whose heart turns away from the Lord.
He is like a shrub in the desert,
and shall not see any good come.
He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness,
in an uninhabited salt land.
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
whose trust is the Lord.
He is like a tree planted by water,
that sends out its roots by the stream
and does not fear when heat comes,
for its leaves remain green,
and is not anxious in the year of drought,
for it does not cease to bear fruit."

Isaiah 61:3
to grant those who mourn in Zion--
to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness instead of mourning,
the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit;
that they may be called oaks of righteousness,
the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.

once again... when we are fed by the word and our hope is in God, righteousness follows....
Psalms 1:1-3
Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way or sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
But his delight is in the law of the Lord
and on his law he meditates day and night
He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
